How to approach strength

Practice the big patterns often

Squat, hinge, press, and pull most weeks. A 2–3 day full-body or 5×5 template keeps practice high without six gym trips.

Use low–moderate reps on main lifts

NSCA-style strength bands often sit around ≤6 reps at higher percentages of 1RM. Leave a rep or two in reserve on most sets.

Rest long enough to keep quality

Heavy compounds often need 2–3+ minutes. Short rests that cut bar speed usually cut strength progress too.

Progress, then deload

Add load or reps when form stays solid. Plan a lighter week when stalls or joint fatigue stack up for several sessions.
