Pyramid sets change load and reps across full sets with normal rest — not inside one continuous set. How to run each style
Ascending pyramid (light → heavy)

- Example working ladder: ~12 → ~8 → ~5 reps as load climbs (exact numbers are flexible).
- Rest fully between sets. Treat early steps as preparation, not failure pumps.

Reverse pyramid (heavy → light)

- Perform the heaviest working set first (e.g. ~4–6 reps @ ~RPE 7–9).
- Rest fully (~2–3+ minutes on big compounds).
- Drop load roughly ~5–15% (or enough to add ~2–4 reps) and repeat for 1–2 more sets as reps climb.
