Extend your arm that's on the same side as your bent knees to the floor and raise your other arm straight up towards the ceiling.
As you inhale, gently stretch your raised arm over your head, bending your torso towards the side of your extended arm and creating a curve in your body, similar to a mermaid's tail.
Hold this position for a few moments, feeling the stretch along the side of your body.
Slowly exhale and return to your starting position, then repeat the exercise on the other side.
